The G20 (Group of Twenty) is an international forum that brings together the world’s major economies to discuss and coordinate on economic and financial issues. India is a member of the G20, and its participation in the forum has increased in recent years.
India has been focusing on data development as a key area for growth and development. India’s data ecosystem has grown significantly in recent years, and the country is now home to a large number of data scientists, engineers, and analysts who are working on cutting-edge technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence.
India has also been focusing on developing a robust data governance framework that protects the privacy and security of citizens while enabling data-driven innovation and growth. In 2018, India introduced the Personal Data Protection Bill, which aims to regulate the processing of personal data by businesses and the government.
India’s efforts in data development have been recognized by the G20, and the country has been playing a key role in shaping the group’s approach to data governance and development. In 2019, India hosted the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting in New Delhi, where the focus was on developing a consensus on issues related to data governance, digital infrastructure, and digital inclusion.
India has also been working with other G20 members to develop a set of guiding principles on artificial intelligence that can be adopted globally. These principles aim to ensure that the development and deployment of AI technologies are guided by ethical considerations such as transparency, accountability, and fairness.
